Software testing remains underrepresented in computer science education, particularly in domain-specific courses such as database management. Database testing requires separate treatment due to ACID properties and state-dependent outputs, yet remains largely unexplored. To address this gap, we developed SQLAssure, a CBLE system grounded in the 5E framework for teaching database-specific testing techniques. We aim to foster query-writing and testing skills and examine contributing learning behaviors. Preliminary observations indicated growth in students’ procedural query writing skills. In the future, Study 1 (n=10) will analyse learning behavior, and Study 2 (n=50) will assess impact.
