History & Culture
Uppsala has many historical and cultural attractions. Among the most famous are:
• Uppsala Cathedral, the largest in Scandinavia
• Museum Gustavianum – University museum including anatomical theatre
• Uppsala Botanical Garden, one of Sweden’s eldest
• Linnaeus Garden – Carl Linnaeus’ home and garden in town
• Uppsala Castle, with history from 1549 until today
However, Uppsala is not only known for its traditions. Today Uppsala is a dynamic industrial and commercial city where knowledge, ideas and entrepreneurship are at the centre.
